Terms of Service
Last updated April 25, 2026
These are the rules for using Resonance. They are written to be readable, not to be a trap. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.
Who can use Resonance
You need to be at least 13 years old to use Resonance. If you are between 13 and the age of legal majority where you live, you may only use the app with permission from a parent or guardian. The app is rated 12+ on the App Store and is not directed at children under 13.
You agree to give us accurate information when you sign up and to keep your account secure. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
Your content
Everything you post on Resonance — moments, threads, profile copy, lists — stays yours. By posting it, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and transmit it as needed to run the service for you and the people you choose to share with. That license ends when you delete the content or your account.
You promise that what you post is yours to share, doesn't infringe anyone else's rights, and doesn't break the rules below.
Acceptable use
Resonance has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. We may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
Don't:
- Post or share content that is illegal, hateful, threatening, harassing, sexually explicit, or that targets anyone with violence or harm.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
- Use Resonance to spam, scrape, scam, or distribute malware.
- Try to break, probe, or overload the service, or interfere with anyone else's use of it.
- Use bots or automated tools to interact with the service except through interfaces we explicitly publish for that purpose.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where the law expressly allows it.
If you find a security issue, please email security@resonating.app instead of exploiting it. We'll work with you in good faith.
Reporting and moderation
Every moment has a Report and a Block option. If you see something that breaks the rules, report it. We review reports within 24 hours and remove content that violates these terms. Repeated violations can lead to account suspension or termination.
We may remove content or suspend accounts at our discretion when we believe a violation has occurred. We try to be proportional, and we will tell you why when we can.
Music services
Resonance supports Apple Music for new account linking. Spotify linking is paused for new accounts, but existing Spotify links and imports remain subject to Spotify's terms:
Music playback, library access, and currently-playing data are provided by Apple Music and, for legacy linked accounts, Spotify. These features remain subject to each service's availability. Apple Music features require an active Apple Music subscription.
Resonance+ does not sell Apple Music access, Spotify access, or any third-party music service. Paid features are Resonance-native features, and third-party music access remains controlled by the applicable music service.
Subscriptions and purchases
If we offer a paid tier (Resonance+), it is sold through the App Store and billed by Apple. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID settings. Refund requests for App Store purchases go through Apple, not us.
Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete account. Deletion removes your data within 30 days. We may keep limited records (e.g. abuse reports, financial logs) where required by law. Account deletion does not cancel App Store subscriptions; cancel active subscriptions in your Apple ID settings before or after deleting your account.
We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that pose a risk to the service or its users. We'll notify you when we can.
Intellectual property
Resonance, the name, the logo, and the app itself are owned by us. These terms don't grant you rights to those except to use the app as intended. Album art, song titles, and artist information come from third-party music services and remain the property of their respective owners.
The app is provided as-is
We work hard to keep Resonance reliable, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will fit a particular purpose. To the maximum extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and "as available." We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Where the law requires us to remain liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US $20, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations; in those places, the limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted.
Changes to these terms
If we change anything material, we'll note it in-app before it takes effect, and update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Resonance after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas in the United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, except where the law gives you a non-waivable right to bring a claim where you live.
